Katie Donovan is a Salem native excited to be back in her hometown! She played at South Salem High School where she led the Saxons to 4 consecutive conference titles and a state championship in 2014. She earned numerous awards, including the 2014 6A Pitcher of the Year, Mid-Valley Player of the year, and Oregon Gatorade Softball Player of the Year. She went on to pitch in the PAC 12 for the University of Utah. The team made 2 Super Regional appearances and finished as the #11 team in the nation in 2017. She is 4th in career wins and 3rd in career strike outs at Utah, as well as a 3 time All-PAC 12 and NFCA Region honoree and PAC 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year. Since her graduation in 2018, she has gone on to pitch for the Aussie Spirit in the NPF, Team Forlí in Italy, and for the WA Flames in Australia’s Gilley Cup. She will be playing for the Haarlem Sparks this season and is currently a pitching coach for South Salem High School. She looks forward to spreading her love and knowledge of the game with girls of all ages who are eager to learn.
